Even before I considered becoming an artist or pursuing an art education, I already expressed myself artistically. My earliest memories are baking in an easy-bake oven, making doll clothes with the fabric that my grandmother purchased for the grandchildren, and even painting my grandmother's water pot. From playing the violin at 10 years old to taking sewing and art classes throughout high school, I have always expressed myself as an artist in some kind of medium. As a photographer who uses mixed media, the images aim to define who I am as a person of color and an Afro-Latina.
I was born in Norfolk, Virginia, but I always consider Camden, New Jersey, my home. I graduated from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, in 2018 with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Photography.
I like to spend time with my family, cook, and explore different ways of being an artist. I currently work in big-box retail, slowly finding my way back to the one thing that has always loved me, art.
